Ormond Nurseries specialises in propagating top-quality, grafted grape plants that are true to type and fully traceable. We 100% test all our scionwood for Grapevine Leafroll Virus 3. We don't guess, we test - every vine, every time.
Our vines are certified under the NZ Grafted Grape Vine Standard and produced in our meticulous and comprehensive propagation system. All parent material is virus tested, and all vines are propagated in our bio-secure facilities by our skilled and dedicated team.
100% Tested
Every single one of our vines undergoes comprehensive testing. We have committed to 100% testing all our scion wood to ensure the health of our grapevines. We also test all scionwood and rootstock source blocks for Grapevine Leafroll-associated virus.
Certified & Traceable
Our vines are certified to the New Zealand Winegrowers Grafted Grapevine Standard. Through a full internal and external audit trail, all material is traceable to source. Provenance is proven by DNA or ampelography. Each vine must pass a rigorous quality control system to assess the health of the root system, graft union and top growth.

Standard Height Vines
Our standard height vines are dormant, field grown vines that have been planted out in the nursery field, grown for a year and then lifted, graded and roots trimmed before bundled into lots of 50 for dispatch. These are the most popular and affordable type of grapevine for new developments.

HI-STEM® vines get to the wire faster and more economically than a traditional vine.

Products
Drip Line Funnel
To assist our customers with their young vine replants, we have created a drip line funnel. The funnel can be easily cabled onto existing drip-line irrigation, and the spaghetti tubing cut to length and the barb staked next to a replanted vine. This system directs water from the irrigation line directly to the new plant, rather than watering weeds or the root systems of neighbouring mature vines. The drip line funnel is completely reusable.
